Potato Days Türkiye in famous Cappadocia-Nevsehir region

Outdoor eight-hectare event took place 23 August - 25 August 2023 with – opened its doors to visitors with access to trials plots, exhibits and machinery demonstrations from over 70 exhibitors – 5,760 visitors

The third edition of DLG's "Potato Days Türkiye" took place from 23 August to 25 August 2023 in Cappadocia, Nevsehir - This trade fair is unique in Türkiye and the region and is exclusively focused on potato cultivation. About 70 exhibitors from the potato industry joined this event.

The eight-hectare outdoor event hosted more than 70 exhibitors, showcasing innovative products and services in the potato industry, including seeds, fertilizers, crop protection, machinery, and implements. Attendees had a chance to visit 25 potato crop trial plots featuring over 90 potato varieties, in addition to witnessing machinery demonstrations, and visiting field booths. Potato Days Türkiye is an excellent opportunity for potato farmers seeking to keep up with the latest technical advances in the industry, which are best demonstrated in person.

In total an area of 500 sqm trial plots filled with new potato breeds was prepared. Visitors had the chance to observe first-hand the effects of different herbicides and fertilizers on the potato crop and compare the various methods. From soil preparation to harvest, participants were able to see which machinery fits best for themselves helping their decision-making process for future equipment. The DLG Fuarcilik trade fair organisers have crafted a space that isn't just informative, but also fosters networking among like-minded individuals within the bounds of the exhibition concept.

International agricultural knowledge and best practices are important to share which is also the remit of the DLG, bringing people together at its events and exhibitions. For example Uzbekistan Potato Union and Azerbaijcan Ministry of Agriculture as well as Kazakhistan Potato Growers’ Association and international visitors participate in 2023. ‘’We have experienced that in three days of Potato Days Turkey it became the meeting point of the Potato Industry.
