Country report Netherlands – Business climate and willingness to invest

Confidence in business development, reluctance to invest

Dutch farmers are satisfied with the current business environment. Farmers are optimistic about the business development of the coming 12 months. Prices for milk and pork are overwhelmingly stable or compared to the last years on a high level.

Pig farmers are in stable economic conditions and benefit from high grain supply by low feed prices. Also prices are widely stable and compared to previous years on above average level. This environment created investment opportunities for business developments and for improving the production concerning animal welfare and environmental impacts.
